All around great accounting and project management software package.

Commentaires : Great accounting system with additional project management features.

Avantages :

Foundation has more features and options then I can hope to use. It is able to be configured and set up work work around any business work flow and accounting style. Our accountants love it and the senior management loves it because they can quickly and easily get a overview of the financial status of the company then drill down to individual invoices and pay applications if they want to. The project management module allows our project management team to tie in everything they generate and respond to the project.

Inconvénients :

Some of the features feel tacked on with little integration between the different modules. The project management system could definitely be easier to use and more intuitive.

Avantages :

I did not like most of the things that Foundation had to offer. I guess I could say after a few years you could navigate it because you were used to its quirks

Inconvénients :

The list is expansive. The system is unwieldy, unstable, and the customer service was rude and mostly unhelpful.

Make Informed Decisions with Accurate Data

Commentaires : It will not be an easy transition from your current accounting software. Follow the implementation teams direction, be candid with what your expectations are, and commit to learning and using the system for your needs. It will get easier and eventually you will see your efforts rewarded. After a year, I began learning more and more ways to make the system work even better for our team and I am now confident in it's ability to provide the data our team needs to make informed decisions to benefit our company.

Avantages :

Foundation is a solid accounting system. Our implementation team made certain we took the time to set up the software to match our needs. Foundation is tailored to allocate everything to the appropriate accounts to generate reports that provide valuable data to make informed decisions for our business.

Inconvénients :

Some accounting scenarios, especially in construction, require you to learn specific ways to account for them in Foundation. A mistake made in this system is not impossible to correct, but it does require a strong knowledge of how software operates. Luckily the support team is fantastic in these scenarios. I've sometimes taken hours to resolve concerns on my own, then contacted support and resolved the concerns in minutes. Use the support team, listen and learn, and they will save you a lot of frustration and time.

Commentaires : Overall, it's a good software. I have seen many changes and am hopefully for many more changes that will broaden the ability to use Foundation with other software.

Avantages :

Good software for construction accounting.

Inconvénients :

That we can not file 941 returns from Foundation. Reporting does not always fit what we need.

Great software for Construction Companies

Commentaires : Overall Foundation has been a great accounting software for our company. We now also use P4C and it has streamlined our payroll process tremendously. We previously has a third party and had a lot of duplicate entry and balancing and that has been eliminated. The training for the transition to P4C was excellent!

Avantages :

That is it customized for the construction industry. The training webinars and help links provided throughout the software are very useful.

Inconvénients :

It would be nice to have more flexibility when creating reports to include information from more than one information area i.e. Combining employee maintenance information with payroll history. There are times the wait time for a reponse to a support call seems long.

Not for the smaller company

Commentaires : Overall this is an expensive software package that would be better suited to larger companies.

Avantages :

Staff is knowledgeable when responding to calls. Calls are normally returned in 1-2 days

Inconvénients :

It does not integrate with other products that are in their suite such as Estimating Edge.

Good Product; Easy to Use

Avantages :

It is easy to navigate. I also like the reports that are available to run from Foundation.

Inconvénients :

Some functions tend to lock up and "not respond", which causes some significant wait time. This is especially true when entering a job markup.

Document imaging and project management.

It has been going down way too often with very little explanation. Change order tracking to subcontracts could be better. Would like to be able to attach time sheets for payroll.

Solid software, needs to work on stability

Commentaires : In general, it's somewhat simple. Security is good, though if an account is not logged into for 21 days, it is locked. I have some users who use it infrequently, so that's very annoying.

Avantages :

Security seems good, processes are well documented. Clients are happy with it.

Inconvénients :

Semi-frequent outages (at least 3 in the past few months), which isn't great when a business relies on the software. Also, there are very odd rules about account deactivation.

I like the ability to pull & filter reports for job. It really allows you to narrow things down.

I do not like how there are so many steps and windows to go through to update an AIA pay App.

Commentaires : I am a CPA in public accounting who works primarily with construction contractors. I love when my clients use Foundation because it is one of the premiere accounting softwares in the industry and has a CPA module that makes it easy for me to get the reports that I need for an efficient audit/review. I know I can rely on their job costing and WIP modules to help my clients prepare accurate financial statements.

Great Accounting Software for Construction

Avantages :

I have used Foundation for 12+ years. We were going to switch a couple years ago, but the other software did not have as many features as Foundation so we stayed.

Inconvénients :

The program itself could be updated a little to look more like windows.

Foundations Software review

Commentaires : Ease of use. Great friendly people.

Avantages :

Ease of use, easy to learn on your own as I did. The support you get from Foundations is great. They don't make you feel stupid as some tech support people do. People are friendly and make you feel comfortable about calling on them. Using the log a call feature is so easy. They put you at ease. It's like talking to a friend about a problem you are having. I like that they can log into your system and show you right on the screen how to fix a problem or mistake. They were right there when I was learning the system. In the beginning I logged calls daily it seemed like. I was NEVER made to feel like I was bothering them.

Inconvénients :

I like it all. For our company there does not seem to be any cons.

Great Product and Out of this World Customer Service/Support

Commentaires : Our experience has been great. Migration was relatively painless, the day to day transactions are straight forward and the more you use the product the easier it gets. Where Foundation really shines is in their support. I never feel like I shouldn't call because they are so willing to help and never make me feel like I should already know this stuff. They are not only knowledgeable about their system but payroll and general accounting as well.

Avantages :

I was worried about the migration from our previous product but Foundation's team took everything in steps and guided us the entire way through. I'd heard horror stories and am glad that we were not one of them.

Inconvénients :

The option to create custom reports could be easier and more intuitive. I know I can log a call to support for help but I would like to be able to do it myself.

Maybe good for accounting but not anything else..

Commentaires : I think the accounting staff finds this software acceptable.

Avantages :

I'm dubious of any review that gives this software 5/5. I cannot fathom how any honest and daily user of this software would rate it this high. I can only assume the accounting portion of this software is useful. The project management and documentation modules are weak at best. These modules to have been added only to allow this to be advertised as a complete construction enterprise software.

Inconvénients :

I've been using this software for 10 years. I'm not a programmer but this software appears to be pretty outdated w/ a feeble attempt to give it a moderately current appearance. The buttons & menus are very reminiscent of Windows 95 type software. I have never seen a display or output remotely close to the screen shots offered on Foundations's website & marketing literature. I suspect these screen shots have been developed for sales & marketing. The actual software does not look like this. The actual user interface is very unattractive & outdated. The user interface is also very unfriendly. Most of the data input fields / windows are very small. Furthermore the data entry fields are fixed in size. You cannot increase the size even by adjusting the size of the window. They are fixed making typing and editing difficult. I often times write my text in MS Word then copy it into Foundation. Another work around is to write the body of your order in MS Excel or MS word & attach it to a basic non-descript cover sheet prepared in Foundation. This work around is effective for orders, Submittals, RFIs, etc. The included forms are very generic & hardly usable. Developing company specific forms is expensive & cumbersome. Forget custom support. It exists in name only. Major flaws: user interface-fixed data entry fields-no spell check-no UNDO button-long standing bugs that remain, ineffective customer support.

Most Intuitive Software I've Ever Used

Commentaires : Very happy with Foundation. Would recommend to anyone in the construction business.

Avantages :

Anything new I need to do, Foundation already has a solution. They are always ahead of me. For example, the COVID sick pay last year. And their support people are very helpful in listening to you and offering a solution for whatever you are trying to accomplish. All the modules work similarly. Easy to learn once you know one.

Inconvénients :

A/R Cannot repeat an invoice number on different customers. A/P Doesn't not show amount left to distribute between accounts, only amount already distributed.

BEST ACCOUNTING SYSTEM I HAVE USED

Commentaires : We found that FSI handles all our needs from accounting to very detailed job costing entries that we need.
Payroll with the FSI job costing module is very easy....and give us exactly what we need.

Avantages :

Ease of use and I think more importantly....if I have a problem, the staff at FSI returns calls, fixes the problems, and makes sure they have corrected anything necessary. Always professional and courteous.

Inconvénients :

Haven't really found any feature I don't like or use.

Foundation Success

Commentaires : Foundation has been integral in our companies success. They are very helpful wheverever we have questions or when we make the occasional mistake to be able to help us fix it is incredible.

Avantages :

The software is very integral for our continued success. What we put into the system can easily be brought out of the system by creating reports. The user features are very easy to figure out and train people on how to use the system.

Inconvénients :

I haven't found many things that I don't like with this software. If you do have something that might help others they will figure it out and implement it into the software.

Amazing Construction Accounting Softwarez!

Avantages :

When the [SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN] of the company and myself did our initial search of our Construction Accounting Software, Foundation Software beat three competitors by providing a better program in these areas: 1. Job costing 2. The report genie (No more expensive crystal reports) 3. Payroll module including certified payroll reports and the ability to upload certified payroll to the DIR in California or to Lcp Tracker. 4. The ability to cloud foundation software with SaaS 5. The customer support 6. The price point

Inconvénients :

All cam software like Viewpoint, Sage 300 or Foundation Software will never be a perfect software. As a user of all three in my career, I can always find an issue with each of them. The only issue so far with Foundation Software is the invoice approval of accounts payable invoices. I feel it is not seamless like their competitors, so we are using an old school method of approval. Our project manager code the invoices by hand and use manila folders. In regards to my cam comment and fairness to Foundation Software, Viewpoint reporting is done by crystal reports which is very expensive and Sage 300 just need a face lift to make more user friendly.
