> **Avantages**: VirusTotal enabled me to scan any file I suspect with a comprehensive number of antivirus engines, all at once and without downloading/installing any software on my machine. It starts by scanning your file's hashes (before upload), and if the file was scanned before, it brings you right into the results page, this feature saves me tremendous amount of data and time.
> 
> **Inconvénients**: Actually this is more of a suggestion than a con. It would be greatly useful to add more web-specific antivirus engines like ImmunifyAV and Sucuri.

> **Avantages**: I love how easy it is to submit websites and files to virustotal for checking. I also love how comprehensive it is in terms of how many threat intelligence providers it checks and also I love the feature whereby it runs the files in a sandbox environment and provides detailed veedback on any suspicious activity.

> **Inconvénients**: I wish it was a little faster and I wish they brought back the feature whereby files could be sent to it by email as this was really useful.
> 
> I have used virustotal for many years and I always rely on it when I want to check either website addresses or files before I open them to confirm they are not suspicious.

> **Inconvénients**: Searches could be more accurate. Sometimes, searching for something in particular returns too much, unrelated data that could be avoided.
