But when we encountered issues with our processes not being followed or too many processes being left undocumented, we realized that what we really needed a better way to read and document them. For us, the way the software breaks down processes- tasks, decisions, meetings, reports, objects really made breaking down and writing the processes easier. The ability to attach files to certain nodes- for example, a form you need to send someone at a given step, makes it feel like everything you need is right there where you need it. Before reading and reviewing the process was a hassle, but now we often refer back to the process- and review it, simply because everything we need for for the process is in one place. We also really like the swim lanes because most of the time, we just need to be able to zero in on what’s relevant to us, where things are at with a certain person/department, or zero in on a deliverable and the swim lanes help make it easy. With this app, you just kind of always know what’s going on. > > **Inconvénients**: We wish that two separate tasks in separate swim lanes were displayed horizontally instead of horizontally and across from each other. On the one hand the way it displays now is great for quickly assessing the overall length of a process and what step you're on. And it does stop things from getting cluttered. So instead of just having flowchart pictures we can use the "Modes" dropdown to context switch instantly. This is much more useful as we can take our process flows and immediately switch into a document editor to create more formal documents like Standard Operating Procedures and compliance artifacts. Or we can switch to outline mode and do project planning and such. With any other tool we'd have to context switch to at least 3 different tools to do that (and we'd have to copy the information over too and try to keep it in sync).
