Additionally, as the industry often demands unsociable hours, the ability to sync the device to a central shared database with a number of users reduces the amount of time you're waiting for data from colleaugues. And another obvious benefit in an industry based outdoors, is that you can survey in the rain without getting paper mache survey sheets\! > > **Inconvénients**: The only issue I have encountered with Fuclrum is the accuracy of it's GPS tracking (which may actually be a device issue). This has sometimes led to individual small data points such as trees in a woodland being mapped a short, sometimes long, distance from their actual location. However, this is easily resolved within the app itself with patience. > > Fulcrum is, or should be, the industry standard for Ecology data collection. The ability to generate literally any style of form from plain text boxes to hundreds of option drop-downs, means that you can keep up with the demands of surveying nature. The help and instructions are easy to understand. Using the apps are also easy, especially for operators who are not very technological literate. Price is within the research of my customers, mostly volunteer not for profit groups and trades people. > > **Inconvénients**: The repirting function needs work, the reports are not easy to tailor. Especially the hiw the report is set out and you can only print on data entry at a time, a consolidate report is a good option to have. Where i can combine a number of data entry's into one report . It's relatively easy to learn and the ability to edit forms and reports using Java script is excellent. > > **Inconvénients**: The cost has become ridiculous and as such it's completely unviable for any small business, or new startup. > > I can not fault the app, it's great\! However Fulcrum were very dishonourable in the way they continually pushed prices up, and now require a minimum of 5 paid users regardless if you only need one. I would have loved to stay with the platform but only need one user account and refuse to be bullied into paying for 5. Honestly folks you can produce almost the same level of capability using a few data collection platforms that have an API and coding it using Ai for a fraction of the cost. I should have gone down this path years ago and saved the money and stress of constantly knowing Fulcrum would jack the prices yet again. The best advantage is a superfast upload of images. It literally takes seconds to get them uploaded. Another feature that I love is the fact that program saves any details that have been entered even in the event if program closes down. This saves so much time. > > **Inconvénients**: Sometimes selected filters don't allow to see all reports. This can be abit annoying when filter get selected by accident. It would be great if system would be able to remember any additional or new items when doing PAT test, and would keep adding them to the database, so next time it would be quicker to simply select the item rather than typing it in manually. > > In general Fulcrum is a great program that I would recommend to others. It is certainty much better than other programs that I have used before.
