As a large company, getting everyone to use the extra packages we have to pay for can be difficult. We have started some (Nursing Advantage and Insights) and had to cancel them due to non use or due to the nurses not using the product as intended. > > Our company has been using the product since 2018, coming from another EHR platform, PCC was easier to transition to and remains easier to train on with new facilities coming on each year. The system seems to log providers out every few minutes, forcing us to complete multiple steps simply to regain access. Each time, we must wait for a six-digit verification code to arrive and manually type in every number rather than approving the login with one simple click. Even after successfully authenticating, the system does not return you to the patient record or task you were working on. Instead, you must navigate through numerous screens and clicks to locate the patient and reopen the correct section. This is exceptionally disruptive when reviewing medications, entering orders, or documenting time-sensitive clinical information. In a healthcare environment, this is more than an inconvenience—it is detrimental to efficient and safe patient care. These repeated interruptions divert attention from the patient, break clinical concentration, delay documentation and orders, and increase cognitive burden. By the time access is restored and the correct screen is located again, it is easy to lose track of the original task, creating a legitimate risk of omissions, delayed care, and documentation errors. I fully support strong data security, but security measures must be designed around real-world clinical practice. A secure one-touch approval option, longer session duration, trusted-device functionality, biometric authentication, and restoration of the user’s previous screen could protect patient information without repeatedly interrupting care.
