The product works exactly as expected. I first started using this product after having some passwords shared on password sharing sites and racking up a bandwidth bill of almost $1,000 in just 2 days as a result. If you don’t have a good password protection script protecting your site, it’s just a matter of time before your passwords end up on sharing sites. Bandwidth from those sites will either crash your server or crash your wallet or both. Password Sentry will pay for itself quickly in saved bandwidth and help keep out garbage traffic. ----- ### "2020... Seriously, I used to use another piece of software that used to protect my members area, and yes for a while it did well, but it soon became out of date and vulnerable, even after updating it, it wasn’t cutting it in terms of security. Password sentry, it flags accounts, logs the IP address, you can see where in the world on a map, where the IP address is located. It will tell you the distance from the IP address, so if you have an account that has logged 5000 miles away from its last log in, you can see that. I did not have that on the last software, I had to always do an IP trace. You can block proxies and VPNs, but divert the users to a warning page, allowing your real customers to disengaged them. I can monitor the bandwidth and limit downloads, normally you must pay extra for another piece of software to do that for you. And I am still finding out how much more it does. On innumerable occasions, it has blocked improper access before things got out of control. Great customer service. It is a real life saver for membership sites. > > **Inconvénients**: There are times the scripting blocks access to legitimate users who, through no fault of their own, log in from what the script sees as excessive IP addresses. It's a minor inconvenience, but the power of the script to block password sharers far outweighs this.
